
Catherine Jane Ford (born 5 December 1969) is professionally known as Catherine Tate, is an English actress, comedian and writer. Tate has been nominated for seven times for the BAFTAs, an International Emmy Award, and many other accolades for her work in BBC sketch comedy series The Catherine Tate Show (2004)-2007. Tate was Donna Noble's partner in Doctor Who's Christmas special in 2006. She later reprised the role and was later the Tenth Doctor's regular companion in the fourth season of Doctor Who in 2008. [2] Following The Catherine Tate Show's success, Tate played Joanie Taylor ("Nan") on the BBC One comedy series Catherine Tate's Nan (2009-2015) as well as in The Nan Movie (2022). In the year 2011, Tate began playing the role of Nellie Bertram in the U.S. version of The Office as well as a regular until the series ended. The character she played was the role of Miss Sarah Postern (2013-2014), and Magica de Spell (2017-2021) in the BBC One sitcom Big School. Tate performed six roles in Hard Cell, the Netflix comedy series she co-wrote and co-directed.
