Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from the mixed race family of South London in England. Madekwe is English as well as her father is Nigerian. She grew up in the south of a London council estate and attended The Brit School at age fourteen. In London she attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in which her acting diploma was earned. During her time at the school, she was a part-time actor in a number of performances on stage, such as The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career through the movie Storm Damage. Since then she has appeared in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe's debut film appearance was in Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Her success has led her to be cast in Elisha in a single-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. She then appeared in the six-episode series Trexx & Flipside in the role of Ollie. In the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl featured her in the year 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe starred in the 2008 Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Affect People. She was also as a character in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path which was written directed by David Watson.
Madekwe was a part of Ashley Davenport for the ABC Drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just 2 weeks at The CW and then it ended. In February, she was cast 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. After appearing on the show for the first two seasons it was announced in May 2013 that Madekwe would leave the show after an appearance as a guest in the pilot episode from the 3rd season. From 2014-2016, Madekwe starred as Tituba on the show Salem. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. They've collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he was a character in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was born into a huge family from Hamilton, Ontario. Her parents Roy and Patty, as well as her four brothers, Brett, Todd, and Bram, were all present. Ashley's siblings, who are all sportsmen, played baseball during the summer and played hockey during winter. Ashley was unable to walk, but could dance. In the end, when she turned 2, she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley became a dancer from that moment. Ashley was a dancer who competed in all the major categories until the time she graduated from high school. She was a competitor in ballet, jazz, tap as well as pointe and Acrobatics. Ashley was awarded the best soloist at each of the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
